Soichi Ibaraki is currently a professor in Graduate School of Advanced Science and Engineering, Hiroshima University.
Soichi Ibaraki received the master degree in Precision Engineering at Kyoto University, Japan, in 1996. He received the Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering at University of California, Berkeley in 2001. He started working in 2001 at Department of Micro Engineering, Kyoto University, first as an assistant professor, and then as an associate professor. In 2016, he moved to Hiroshima University as a full professor.
His research interest is in the error calibration for machine tools and industrial robots. He has been an expert in ISO/TC39/SC2, a subcommittee for international standards for test conditions for metal cutting machine tools, and served as a project leader for the publication of several ISO standards. He is currently an associate editor for IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics, Precision Engineering, and Transactions of the ASME, The Journal of Dynamic Systems, Measurement, and Control.
